Knicks Rumors: Knicks to retain Sam Dalembert, use at center

In today's look into the world of Knicks rumors, the New York Knicks are expected to retain recently-acquired center Samuel Dalembert and most likely utilize him as their starting center.

Per Marc Berman of the New York Post, "despite speculation following the massive six-player swap with the Mavericks, The Post has learned Dalembert will not be waived by the Knicks in order to create a larger mid-level exception to spend on a July free agent. He may be the Knicks starting center this season, providing the defense Tyson Chandler once brought."

Dalembert has been extremely durable since missing the 2002-03 season with the 76ers due to a major knee injury. In the subsequent 12 seasons, he has played in 854 games for an average of just over 71 per year.

The big man is best know for his shot blocking ability, able to both change angles of opponents driving to the hoop and set up transition offense with his solid defense in the post.
