New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher saw something in the team's troubling 105-78 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night that he hadn't seen before - a distinct lack of energy.
"Just seeing our team, you know, just flat," Fisher told reporters after the game at Chesapeake Energy Arena, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New Yorka. "Maybe from the [overtime] loss to Dallas maybe still a little deflated after expending so much energy there."
For Fisher, in spite of the team's 4-13 record heading into Sunday's play, this was the first time that he felt his team wasn't able to at least compete with the other team on the floor.
"But [we] just, you know, couldn't get up to the level of our opponent, and that's really the first time I've felt that all season, early in the game, where it felt like we just couldn't get to the level of the team we were playing against."
