Head coach Rex Ryan's time with the New York Jets may be coming to a close when the season ends, but that doesn't necessarily mean the season will end for him.
While the Jets won't be in the playoffs for the fourth straight season, Ryan might be making an appearance with the New England Patriots.
That's right - Rex Ryan could be helping to coach the Patriot's defense before the season ends.
Josh McDaniels joined the staff in New England after being fired as head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2011, and served as an offensive assistant for the team before taking over as offensive coordinator the following year.
While Ryan hasn't had much success as a head coach, he's one of the most respected defensive minds in the league and will surely provide New England's defense with a boost this postseason. It will also reunite him with cornerback Darrelle Revis, who flourished under Ryan with the Jets.
This move would not necessarily mean Ryan would become Bill Belicheck's defensive coordinator next season, but it could help boost his resume while he looks for other jobs this offseason.
