The NHL holds a lottery to determine the order for the first 14 picks in the June entry draft, with all 14 non-playoff teams having a shot at one of the top three selections.

The last-place Toronto Maple Leafs are the "favored" team, with a 20 percent chance of winning the lottery and getting the first-overall selection.
