There isn’t anyone that New York Islanders GM Garth Snow like to deal with more than his Edmonton Oilers counterpart Peter Chiarelli.
He traded Griffen Reinhart to the Oilers for a first round and second round pick in the 2015 NHL draft. Picks Snow would turn into Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier.
Earlier this offseason, Garth was able to squeeze Jordan Eberle out of Edmonton for Ryan Strome. Straight up. One for one. And now it seems that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is available, for cheap.
According to Yahoo’s Jason Cuthbert, thanks to the McDavid and Draisailt extensions, the Oilers have put Nugent-Hopkins on the clearance section of the Oilers trade block.
