Cornerback Eli Apple arrived at his second NFL training camp with more muscle and less hair. He sported a close-cropped head, with no sign of the tight curls he had as a rookie.
“I kind of came in with a little new look,” Apple said. “Some of the guys just looked at me and they didn’t really recognize me at first, so I’d introduce myself all over again.’’
Apple also is noticeably bulkier, by design. He said he weighs 202 pounds, up from 195 he carried last season.
“I think it will make a big difference,’’ he said.
