Running back Michael Cox waived by Giants

The New York Giants announced Monday that they have waived running back Michael Cox, a seventh-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Cox played in 18 games for the Giants over two seasons, 14 as a rookie and four last season. He started the 2014 season on the practice squad, was activated, then finished the season on injured reserve after suffering a fractured leg.

In two seasons with the Giants, Cox carried the ball 26 times for 76 yards (2.9 yards per carry), caught five passes for 21 yards and returned 31 kickoffs for an average 22.
