Giants have no more use for RB Michael Cox

The Giants had no more room for Michael Cox, and waived the running back on Monday.

The Giants added Shane Vereen this offseason to a running back stable that included Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams as key contributors and Orleans Darkwa and Chris Ogbonnaya as space-keepers.

Cox, a 2013 seventh-round draft pick out of UMass (he spent most of his college career at Michigan), played in 18 games (one start) in his two seasons. He played in five games last season before suffering a broken leg Nov. 9 in Seattle. Cox’s career NFL totals: 26 rushing attempts for 76 yards and five receptions for 21 yards.
