Saints' Nate Stupar emerging on defense with athleticism, play-making ability

New Orleans Saints linebacker Nate Stupar dropped back in coverage early in the first quarter of Week 7 action against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith surveyed the field and spotted tight end Travis Kelce, who measures 6-5, 260 pounds, breaking open down the field before unleashing a pass.

There was a problem, however, for Smith and the Chiefs on that play – they didn't account for Stupar's athleticism as he jumped the route more than 15 yards down the field.

Stupar gives up three inches to Kelce, but that didn't prevent the 6-foot-2 linebacker from leaping high with his right arm and fingers extended to knock the ball away.
