New Orleans Saints center Max Unger passed a physical on Thursday, which means he'll be eligible to practice on Friday.

Unger started training camp on the physically unable to perform list after undergoing foot surgery in May.

The Saints have hoped Unger could play in at least one preseason game, and even though it's unlikely he'll play Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, he should now have time to practice before the third exhibition against the Houston Texans next Saturday.
