ESPN’s Adam Caplan first had the news on Monday morning, which has since been confirmed via The Advocate’s Joel Erickson.
The Saints recently worked out a host of veteran receivers, which included Hakeem Nicks, Denarius Moore, and Nathan Palmer as well as Brown. Clearly, Brown emerged and showed something to the coaching staff.
Brown, who just turned 27 in January, was a third-round pick by the San Diego Chargers in 2011 (82nd overall). Unfortunately, Brown didn’t exactly live up to the hype in his first two seasons, and was released from the team prior to the start of the 2014 season with an injury settlement.
