1. History of the city and team
First, let it be said that unlike Green Bay, there is no such city as Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is the body of water around which the cities of Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Bradenton and Clearwater are situated. Spanish explorer Ponce De Leon first passed through the area in 1513. The city began to prosper in the late 1800's with the introduction of railways that allowed trade, especially in cigars.
