OKLAHOMA CITY – One member of the “Fire and Ice” combination set a franchise record for points in a quarter Sunday. The other made some unique NBA history of his own. Ultimately, however, it wasn’t quite enough for New Orleans to crack the win column for the first time since agreeing to a blockbuster trade during All-Star weekend. In an entertaining, high-scoring affair, Oklahoma City turned in a halftime deadlock into an eight-point victory, piling up 59 points in both halves.
Anthony Davis established a New Orleans team mark by piling up 24 points in the first quarter.
