ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- With the Lobos' Mountain West regular season championship trophy sitting in the middle of the locker room, 10th-year University of New Mexico coach Ray Birmingham spoke candidly to a Lobo team that just had its season end in an 11-5 loss to Fresno State on Saturday afternoon during the Mountain West Tournament at Santa Ana Star Field.
"These things aren't easy to get – and they continue to get harder as time goes on," Birmingham told his team pointing to the trophy. "For you seniors and guys that get drafted and won't be back – you'll always be a part of this and make sure you hold these guys accountable.
