Why Devils GM Ray Shero was quiet with trades at 2017 NHL Draft

NEWARK -- Devils general manager Ray Shero had the picks and flexibility to make a trade for assets at the NHL Draft, but no offers gave him the incentive to do so.

The Devils entered Day 2 of the Draft with nine picks remaining, and while they did make a late trade to swap a seventh-round pick in exchange for two later picks, Shero stayed relatively quiet.

"The way this really turned out, you saw a couple trades, and I think there might be some to come," Shero said on Monday.
