Palmieri injury not considered serious

Right wing Kyle Palmieri, who sustained an unspecified injury in the second period of Wednesday's preseason game in Philadelphia, is expected to be fine for the start of the regular season.

Palmieri was injured when he fell awkwardly into the end boards while being pressured by Flyers' forward Scott Laughton in the Flyers' zone 3:16 into the second period. He did not return to the game. Palmieri had one assist and three shots on goal in 7:36 of ice time prior to the injury. The Devils won the game 4-2.

"He's just got a little minor tweak right now that we just didn't want to have him finish the game," Devils coach John Hynes said after the game.
