New Jersey Devils Prospect Named OHL Goaltender of the Year

The 19-year old Canadian native ended the year with a 28-13-0 record in 43 games for the Colts. He led the league with a .921 save percentage and posted a 2.72 goals-against-average with three shutouts. Blackwood also helped the Colts to their second consecutive division title. He signed his entry level contract with the Devils back in December 2015.

“It is an honour to receive this award considering the amount of great goalies throughout the league,” said Blackwood. “I would like to thank my teammates who battled in front of me all year, my coaches for helping me develop into the player I am today, and the whole Barrie Colts organization for the great opportunities that they have allowed me to experience over the past three seasons.
