NEWARK - Goalie Cory Schneider has been a rock for the Devils through their first six games of the season, but the Devils are preparing to preserve one of their biggest assets.
When the Devils play their first back-to-back games of the season on Friday and Saturday, Schneider will sit for the first, giving way to backup Keith Kinkaid on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks for his first start of the season. Schneider will return for his seventh start on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Taylor Hall has quickly made his mark with the Devils, scoring five goals in his first six games with the team.
