Many Revolution supporters expected Diego Fagundez to start the 2017 season on the bench. That assumption made sense, with Scott Caldwell, Xavier Kouassi, Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo entering the season as top-choice midfielders.
But Jay Heaps didn’t hesitate to start Fagundez in the season opener against the Colorado Rapids. And Heaps didn’t hesitate to look his way in week three against FC Dallas or week four against Minnesota United.
Now, the Uruguayan midfielder has played every minute of the 2017 season; only Scott Caldwell has accomplished that feat out of the Revolution midfield.
