New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is planning to return to the team next week, ESPN reported yesterday.
Pierre-Paul stayed away from the Giants all offseason, first because of his contract situation, more recently while recovering from the July 4 fireworks accident that cost him his right index finger. The Giants have not been able to examine Pierre-Paul since the accident.
His plan is to meet with team medical personnel next week in East Rutherford, N.J. After that, he and the team will make a determination about when he might be able to play.
