Dont'a Hightower injury changed complexion of game in Patriots' overtime loss to Broncos

DENVER — The Patriots played a football game Sunday, so of course there are additions to the team's ever-expanding injury report.

Depending on its severity, the knee injury suffered by Rob Gronkowski could have major implications on the Patriots' Super Bowl hopes.

The injury suffered by Dont'a Hightower in the second quarter certainly had major implications in the outcome of Sunday's game, a 30-24 overtime loss that dashed the hopes of an undefeated season.

With Hightower, the Patriots limited Denver's rushing attack to 15 carries for 43 yards. Without him, the Broncos ran 17 times for 136 yards and three touchdowns.
