Report: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Not Expected To Play In Week 1

The New England Patriots won't have QB Tom Brady in week one against the Arizona Cardinals and it doesn't look like TE Rob Gronkowski will play either. NFL.com reports Gronkowski is not expected to play this week.

With Gronkowski out, it deprives Jimmy Garoppolo, the starting QB with Brady out, of his best weapon. It could also mean increased action for Martellus Bennett, the No. 2 TE.

The Patriots have not officially declared Gronk out, so there is a chance he could play. However, he did not travel with the team. Gronkowski is dealing with a hamstring injury.

This is a developing story. Refresh for updates.
