Patriots Rumors: Patriots targeting Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews in draft?

In today's dose of Patriots rumors, the New England Patriots' search to find big-play wide receivers to add to starting quarterback Tom Brady's arsenal may have landed in the SEC.

Per Meredith Perri of WEEI.com (via ProFootballRumors.com), the New England Patriots could very well target former Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews in the second or third round of May's NFL Draft, due to Matthews being a "solid route-runner with good hand-eye coordination."

CBSSports.com lauds Matthews' "chiseled frame that was more impressive than higher-profile names also at the Senior Bowl" along with his "ability to make plays at all levels of the field and do damage after the catch."

If the New England Patriots believe that Jordan Matthews' NFL frame and ability to make things happen after contact is what they need in their depleted pass-catching corps, Matthews could very well be a Patriot at the start of the 2014 NFL season.
