Patriots News: Akeem Ayers To Play On Sunday Night Football Against Indianapolis

The New England Patriots will have Akeem Ayers in the lineup and ready to go for their Sunday Night Football matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

Ayers was missing from Friday's practice, but his absence was reportedly not injury-related and he is slated to be in action on Sunday.

Per Lee Schechter of ESPNBoston.com, "Ayers will be good to go Sunday night and the Patriots will need him as the team continues to be without defensive end Chandler Jones (hip). Jones is ruled out and has not played since Oct. 16 in a win against the New York Jets. Ayers has filled Jones' role and has played well as the team's right defensive end."

First-year defensive end Dominique Easley, who has also been a help at Jones' right defensive end spot, was absent for two days of practice this week with a knee injury. He was limited in his participation on Thursday and Friday and is currently listed as questionable against the Colts.
