Aaron Hernandez Pleads Not Guilty to 2012 Double Homicide

Former New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to a 2012 double homicide (a charge unrelated to the murder allegation that first landed him in prison).

Hernandez was charged with the murders of Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Teixeira Furtado, 28. The two were residents of Dorchester, MA who were killed in July 2012 when a man fired multiple gunshots into their vehicle. Hernandez was indicted for the double murder on May 15th, with additional charges of armed assault and attempted murder leveled because of shots fired at the surviving occupants of the car.

Hernandez is due back in court on June 24th.
