What the Air Raid offense means for Pack's RBs, TEs

When Wolf Pack running back James Butler, the Golden Helmet (MVP) winner of last year’s team, first heard the program was moving to the pass-happy Air Raid offense he was justifiable nervous.

Butler had become the team’s offensive identity the last two seasons as Nevada ran the ball more than 60 percent of the time. He logged back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. And while he’s been a team-first guy since joining Nevada in 2014, he didn’t exactly know what the Air Raid meant for his role on the team.

“I think he was a little nervous when he heard ‘Air Raid,’” new Wolf Pack offensive coordinator Matt Mumme said.
