Report: Vanderbilt OC emerges as 'strong candidate' for Pack

Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig has emerged as a "strong candidate" for the Nevada head-coaching position, per FootballScoop.com.

Ludwig has been a natural fit for the Wolf Pack since Nevada parted ways with Brian Polian on Sunday.

Ludwig was the offensive coordinator at Utah from 2005-08 at the same time Nevada athletic director Doug Knuth was the Utes' senior associate athletic director. Ludwig was Utah's coordinator in 2008 when the Utes went 13-0 and finish second in the nation in the final AP Top 25 poll.

Ludwig has never been a head coach but has served as an offensive coordinator since 1997, moving from Cal Poly to Fresno State to Oregon to Utah to Kansas State to Cal to San Diego State to Wisconsin to Vanderbilt.
