The Wolf Pack football staff, led by first-year coach Jay Norvell, is putting together its 2018 recruiting class, which is unique for two reasons. First, Nevada has devoted a block of scholarships in the 2018 class to players who will join the team for the 2017 season (you can roll some scholarships forward but enroll those players early). Second, the NCAA adopted an early signing period this year, which runs from from Dec. 20-22, so you'll see some players sign earlier than ever before (the signing period is typically in February).
Nevada received a verbal commitment over the weekend from Garrett Nickelson, an offensive lineman from Texas.
