Pack coaches hit recruiting road looking to make up ground

Three days after Jay Norvell was hired as the Wolf Pack's head coach, college football hit a recruiting dead period.

That changed Thursday when the recruiting period opened again. After putting together his staff and finalizing his contract, Norvell and company have turned their full attention to visiting and wooing recruits. Thursday marked 20 days before prospects make their decisions official on national signing day on Feb. 1.

“We’re trying to improve the roster as much as we can in the next three weeks and we’re working diligently to do that,” Norvell said. “Our biggest message is we’re going after the best players.
