Locals in NFL: Kap still sitting as Gabbert, 49ers struggle

Each week, we will track how the locals in the NFL performed. Here’s a look at week three of the season.

* QB Colin Kaepernick, 49ers: 49ers quarterback Blaine Gabbert (14-of-25, 119 yards, INT) struggled again, this time in a 37-18 loss to Seattle but coach Chip Kelly, who supported Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest earlier in the week, said he never gave consideration to benching Gabbert in favor of Kaepernick. Gabbert ranks 30th out of 32 NFL starters in quarterback rating and Seattle defensive lineman Michael Bennett said following the game that Kaepernick should be starting.
