When Wolf Pack golf coach Jacob Wilner began recruiting Grant Booth, a native of Sydney, Australia, in 2014 there was one big obstacle that was hard to overcome: the time difference.
“When you’re talking about a 16- or 17-hour difference, it’s pretty challenging to have phone calls,” Wilner said. “One time we set up a phone call and I was going out of town and I had to do it early, like 10 o’clock in the morning, and Grant and his family got up at 4 a.m. in Australia to have a conversation. That really impressed me. It showed me the level of commitment he had to play college golf.
