Cluster of Pack players raise single fist during anthem

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Traditionally in college football, both teams are in the locker room when the National Anthem is played, but at Purdue, they do things differently and have done so for decades.

Wolf Pack coach Brian Polian was plenty aware of that and so he gathered his team Friday to make sure his players were responsible and respectful.

At Purdue, both teams take the field prior to the playing of the National Anthem and Polian requested his players stand and remove their helmets for the anthem. But, ultimately, Polian left the decision on what to do up to his players, saying he legally couldn’t do anything else.
