Before the first drill of the first fall camp practice of the season, Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel addressed his group with a passionate speech about how his unit wanted to be remembered in 10 years.
Anybody who watched the Wolf Pack defense last year knows how that unit will be remembered – as one that was historically bad at run defense. With almost the same personnel back this season, only a year older and hopefully wiser, Casteel capped his speech by hammering home that run defense deficiency.
“We’ve got to stop the run,” Casteel said.
