* DURING UNLV’S SEARCH FOR ITS next athletic director, I heard on a few occasions there was momentum down south to push for Nevada’s Doug Knuth. Now, this is nothing new. I’ve heard Knuth’s name tied to several athletic director jobs over the last couple of years and any Western-based school that doesn’t at least consider Knuth would be foolhardy.
