Six-run inning lifts Huskers in first game of a doubleheader

The Nebraska softball team jump on Northwestern quickly en route to a 7-4 victory Saturday at Bowlin Stadium.

The victory clinched the series for the Huskers (23-25, 12-7 Big Ten). With rain likely Sunday, Nebraska and Northwestern will play the third game of the series Saturday instead of Sunday.

The Huskers scored six runs on five hits in the first inning, and Northwestern (20-26, 6-11) was unable to recover in time, despite making things interesting in the seventh inning.

Kaylan Jablonski finished with two hits and three RBIs. Her two-run single in the first gave the Huskers a 2-0 lead.
