No. 15 Volunteers shut down Huskers

The Nebraska softball team's gauntlet through tough opposing pitching continued on Friday .

Tennessee starter Matty Moss pitched a two-hit shutout and the No. 15 Volunteers blanked the Huskers 5-0 at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California.

Moss struck out seven, walked only one, hit one batter and faced five batters over the minimum to win her seventh game of the season.

Tennessee (13-0) opened with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to stake an early.

The Huskers got their best chance in the top of the fifth inning when Laura Barrow led off with a single.
