New-look Huskers ready to build own legacy of memories

It’s taxing on any college soccer roster to lose four senior starters but throw in the pedigree that the Huskers lost after the 2016 season and it can be devastating.

The Nebraska soccer program graduated Courtney Claassen, Caroline Flynn, Jaycie Johnson and Sydney Miramontez last year and with them went two NCAA Tournament team appearances, two National Women’s Soccer League draft picks, three professional contracts and a myriad of memories on pitch.

But, with the loss of some Nebraska legends, the opportunity to create a new legacy has arisen for the new crop of Husker seniors that learned from the talented foursome what it takes to succeed.
