While Mike Riley and company are going to have more talent at the quarterback position than the team has had in years, that talent doesn’t run very deep. When Tommy Armstrong and Ryker Fyfe both graduate after this season, the QBs on the roster will be Patrick O’Brien, Tanner Lee, Tristan Gebbia (as a true freshman) and perhaps Zack Darlington.
One way to make sure the program is able to add a bit of depth and perhaps another player who can compete for the starting job is to bring in Blake Barnett. According to ESPN, Alabama announced Barnett is leaving the school and is suspected to be headed to a JUCO.
