Nebraska seeks to claim the Freedom Trophy for the first time since its inception in 2014.
Ok, some will argue that’s not the biggest storyline Saturday at 6 p.m. when the No. 7 Huskers (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten Conference) play at No. 11 Wisconsin (5-2, 2-2).
Nebraska is still a newbie to trophy games and, quite frankly, has more at stake in facing a Wisconsin team that’s 10-3 against the Big Ten West since 2014, when the league changed divisional formats.
The Huskers are not only out to prove to national pundits – and local ones, for that matter – they’re worthy of their lofty ranking, they’re aiming to put a stranglehold on the West Division race.
