After a 16-0 loss on Friday, Nebraska (8-19) took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning before losing 5-4 to No. 8 Minnesota (27-2) at Bowlin Stadium on Saturday.
“Our message yesterday was just we have to stick together. I mean that just an old fashioned butt whooping yesterday,” Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle said.
The Huskers struck first in the top of the first inning as Alyvia Simmons and Tristan Edwards both crossed the plate to give Nebraska a 2-0 lead. Simmons’ double to lead off the inning extended her hitting streak to 13 games.
“I threw her in the leadoff spot and into centerfield all at the same time and look how the kid is responding.
