Four errors proved costly for the Nebraska softball team in a 4-3 eight-inning loss to Purdue in the first of two games Friday at Bowlin Stadium.
Husker senior Dawna Tyson went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs, including one on a double in the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-2.
A fielding error to begin the eighth inning allowed Purdue to get the lead-off hitter on base, and Katie Harrison followed with a double to the left-center gap. Then Lauren Stewart brought the two runs home on a single down the right-field line.
