Husker hoops recruit picks Iowa instead

The Nebraska women’s basketball roster for this season lost another player on Tuesday when Kathleen Doyle decided she would soon be playing for Iowa instead of the Huskers.

Jerald Davis, Doyle’s AAU coach with Chicago Hoops Express, said Doyle made her final decision between Iowa and Nebraska. Before that the 5-foot-9 point guard had eliminated Vanderbilt and Indiana.

Doyle probably would have had a chance to play a lot right away at Nebraska, especially after the Huskers lost second-team All-Big Ten guard Natalie Romeo. Romeo transferred to Washington last week in the fallout after Connie Yori resigned as head coach.
