Dudley dominates as Huskers handle Wildcats on the mat

Taking up less than half the space on the floor of the Devaney Sports Center was the wrestling mat where Northwestern and Nebraska clashed in the Tumble N' Rumble.

If you want a microcosm of the Huskers’ 39-6 win Friday night, look no further than TJ Dudley.

The Husker junior recorded a takedown in the first minute, but Northwestern’s Regis Durbin squirmed away. Twenty seconds later, Dudley got another takedown. Durbin didn’t get out the second time.

“I wasn’t trying to pin him real fast,” the 184-pounder said. “I tried to spread him out and work him, but sometimes you get focused and in that zone so you go for the pin.
