OMAHA — Parity and overall improvement in the Big Ten has at least eight conference baseball coaches believing in the chance at a tough tournament this week at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, and some more in the NCAA regionals.
"We've got eight teams in the top-100 RPI rankings and we have one team in the top 100 that isn't here," Nebraska coach Darin Erstad said Tuesday at a pre-Big Ten Tournament press conference.
He used a personal experience to describe how the tournament has grown. He said his wife, Jessica, had to explain what she was doing in town when the Big Ten Tournament was at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
