Dakota Prukop named Oregon starting quarterback for season opener

The Oregon Ducks have named Dakota Prukop as the team's starting quarterback for the upcoming season, the team announced in its depth chart for Week 1.

Prukop transferred to Oregon from Montana State in January after coming off a season with 3,025 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also added 11 touchdowns and 774 yards on the ground. The Bobcats finished 5–6 last season.

Prukop replaces quarterback Vernon Adams who spent just one year at Oregon after transferring from Eastern Washington.

Freshman Justin Herbert will serve as the team's back-up quarterback. Redshirt freshman Travis Jonsen and freshman Terry Wilson were also considered before being left off the first depth chart of the year.
