Despite allegations otherwise, Rhode Island athletic director Thorr Bjorn on Thursday denied any "derogatory expletive remarks" were made by Rams coach Dan Hurley or his staff toward Maryland players during the postgame handshake at the Cancun Challenge on Saturday night.
A tournament official said Hurley directed an expletive at Maryland players after the Terps' 86-63 victory, according to The Washington Post, and the teams had to be separated prior to the awards presentation.
