Nation's Leading Passer, Washington State's Connor Halliday, Leaves Game With Horrific Injury

UPDATE:

The Washington State Cougars have struggled to a 2-5 record this season, but quarterback Connor Halliday is having a special season.

He's leading the country with 3,833 passing yards and 32 touchdowns the season, and set the NCAA record with 734 passing yards in the Cougars' loss to Cal.

Halliday was off to another terrific start against USC this afternoon, but suffered a horrific leg injury in the first quarter. Click here for video.

He was carted off the field and had his leg placed in an air cast. There has been no word on a diagnosis of the injury, but it looks to be severe enough that it will end the senior's season - and his college career.

Halliday was on pace to be close to breaking Texas Tech's B.J. Symon's NCAA record of 5,833 passing yards .
