Mercer gained national notoriety in March with their upset of third-seeded Duke and Jabari Parker in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and are looking to carry that momentum into another successful season.

This year will be Mercer's first in the Southern Conference after winning the Atlantic Sun last season. The Bears open their season on November 14 against Piedmont College.
