Manziel Replacement Kenny Hill Torches South Carolina In Texas A&M's Season Opener

Johnny Manziel: system quarterback?

The Texas A&M Aggies didn't miss a beat in their first game since Manziel's departure for the NFL - sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill stepped in flawlessly, throwing for a jaw-dropping 511 passing yards and three touchdowns. Hill was 44/60 on the night, and five different A&M receivers ended up with over 50 receiving yards.

The final score was 52-28, and the 680 total yards given up by South Carolina were a new school record. The loss was the heaviest home defeat of Steve Spurrier's career, and snapped an 18-game home winning streak at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Hill's 511 passing yards set a new Texas A&M record for a single-game total, eclipsing a mark previously set by...Johnny Manziel.
