Alex Barta has the most boring job in America because he has nothing to do.
Barta serves as punter for the Navy football team, which boasts a potent offense that has been on fire the last seven games. In fact, quarterback Will Worth and the rest of the offense have been so good that a punter has barely been needed.
Navy punted the ball just twice during the entire month of November — once at East Carolina and once against Tulsa. Barta was not needed at all versus Notre Dame or SMU, an odd occurrence that is due in part to head coach Ken Niumatalolo's habit of going for it on fourth down.
